  4. INTRODUCTION

  6. Welcome to IconMaster, the most comprehensive and user friendly 
  7. Windows 3 icon management and editing utility available. IconMaster's 
  8. earlier Beta release received high marks in the Windows user community. 
  9. It was a Public (software) Library "Best of 1991" and a PC World "Top
  10. Pick" and a PC/Computing Magazine "Top Windows Pick". Version 1 is a 
  11. major upgrade in functionality, performance, and documentation from 
  12. the earlier Beta release. We hope you enjoy it.

  15. SHAREWARE REGISTRATION
  16.  
  17. IconMaster is not free. It is copyright 1991, 1992 and is distributed 
  18. as shareware. You may use it to evaluate its suitability to your needs 
  19. and you may redistribute it to others under the same terms so long as 
  20. you do not charge for it. If you continue to use IconMaster beyond a 
  21. reasonable evaluation period, you must register it. 
  22.  
  23. If you wish to distribute IconMaster with a charge for copying or 
  24. distribution or if you wish to bundle IconMaster with a commercial 
  25. product, you must obtain specific written permission from the author. 
  26. Please see the license information in the manual for details.

  28. Unregistered users will occasionally see a registration reminder screen 
  29. when the program is started. There are no annoying reminders during 
  30. operation and this version is not crippled in any way.
  31.  
  32. Registration is $20.00 ($25.00 outside the USA) for which you will 
  33. receive the most recent version and a registration code to turn off 
  34. registration reminder screens. In addition, over 2500 icons in 
  35. IconMaster IMZ library format are available with registration for an
  36. additional fee of only $10.00.

  38. Registered users of any previous version can continue to use their
  39. same registration code.  Upgrades, which include the IconMaster Icon 
  40. Library, are available for only $15.00.

  78. WINDOWS 3.1 NOTE
  79.  
  80. This version is being distributed before Windows 3.1 is finalized.
  81. While it will work fine with 3.1, automatic icon installation in the
  82. Program Manager will not work because of changes in Windows. As soon 
  83. as the new release of Windows is stable, a new IconMaster version will 
  84. be posted that supports automatic icon installation for it.
